Tame

and my tamed sounds was
a bowing back
a bending neck
a closing lid

and the prowling sense of
a lesser self
a moral plague
a muted life

We Leapt From Jagged Rocks, Now Your Hands Are Fire

leapt from jagged rocks
and now your hands are fire
froth from upperlip
your hate is ever
fled from once a home
burned - all bridges past
lids shut tight
arms flail
and you yell: are you friend or foe

viewing from the hilltop
as the waters fill the vale
huddling together
as the rain keeps pouring down

leapt from jagged rocks
and now your hands are fire

Youth

in ripening age
I found black
not a shell,
not a husk to be worn to rebell
a true absence of grasp

Amble Other

when faced with tender shards to hold
lacerations appear on my palms
and in that first fright
I abandon any encumbrance

to see the ample other
and know a lesser self
be crumbled in contempt
for what it is

the shapes of light.
dancing against your eyelids
as your thumbs press against
your mending eyes
in bewilderment
and then to scream
and to feel the tonsils burn
when the throat open
